Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his debts and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the team access places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
